Is all the Festive Cheeriness Making you feel sad?

Christmas, a happy or sad time of the year.

The festive season can be a very difficult and stressful time of the year for many, even if you don’t celebrate Christmas. All around us are messages telling us to be happy and full of Christmas cheer. This can put a lot of pressure on us to try to be more sociable at a period where we are feeling particularly low. Through all of the advertisements selling this and that we don’t hear that it’s ok to feel low, depressed or anxious at this time, which is only a natural and normal feeling for people to have sometimes. But we don’t hear this message anywhere, which can make us feel even more isolated with it all and that “there’s something wrong with us” with it, which of course, there isn’t.
